Hey guys, it’s your boy back again with another little project I messed around with – making a football game, but with drawings!

So, I’ve always been a huge football fan, you know? And I like to doodle. I thought, why not combine the two? So I did. I started by sketching out the basic stuff, the field, the players, all that. I did not follow any specific tutorial.
- First, I drew out a simple rectangle for the field. Nothing fancy, just a big old rectangle.
- Then, I added some lines for the yard markers. I messed up a few times here, had to erase and redraw, but it’s all good. Practice makes perfect, right?
- Next up, the players. I went with stick figures because, let’s be honest, my art skills are not exactly top-notch. But stick figures can be expressive, you know? I drew some for offense, some for defense. I made sure to make them look like they were in action, running, blocking, you name it.
After getting the basic drawing down, I thought, “How can I make this a game?” I started messing around with the idea of animating the drawings. I thought this would be difficult and it was. I tried a bunch of different software but most of them were too complicated.
I spent a whole afternoon just trying to figure out how to make the stick figures move. It was a mess. But I didn’t give up! I finally found a simple animation program that even I could understand.
The fun begins!
I imported my drawings into the program and started adding movement. I made the players run, pass the ball, everything. It was super tedious, moving each body part frame by frame. But when I finally saw the stick figures moving, it was totally worth it. I felt like a real animator! Some folks online were saying that this animation thing is just a waste of time and my work sucks, but I didn’t listen to them and kept going.
Finally, I added some simple rules to make it a real game. Like, how many yards you need to get a first down, how many points for a touchdown, stuff like that. Nothing too complex, just enough to make it fun and challenging.

It took a while, a lot of trial and error, but I finally had a working football game made entirely of my own drawings. It’s not perfect, the animations are a bit janky, and the gameplay is super basic, but it’s mine. And it was a blast to make! I am super proud of it.
I am not sure if I will ever release this game. Maybe, if I can make it better. But for now, it is just a fun little project that I am happy to share with you all.
So, that’s my little adventure in making a drawn football game. Hope you guys enjoyed it! Until next time, peace out!
