This Pledis thing, they say they looking for new stars. Pledis Entertainment Audition, that’s what they call it. You gotta be young, born after 2006, they say. Well, I ain’t that young no more, but my granddaughter, she sure is! She can sing and dance, that girl. I told her, “Go on and try, what’s the worst that can happen?”
They got this thing called online audition. You can do it right from your phone, I reckon. Just gotta record yourself singing or dancing or whatever. Then, if they like you, you gotta go to some big city. Seoul, they say. Sounds far. There is also Australia. Big place.
They got different things you can try out for. Vocal, that’s singing. Then there’s rap, which is like talking real fast to music. And then dance, that’s moving your body all fancy-like. My granddaughter, she’s good at all three. She’s been practicing day and night. Keeps me up sometimes, but I don’t mind. She got a dream, you see.
They want to find the next big K-pop stars. What’s K-pop? I don’t know exactly. It’s some kind of music young folks like, I guess. Catchy tunes. Lots of dancing. They wear nice clothes. My granddaughter likes it. She says it’s the best music ever.
This Pledis Entertainment Audition 2024, it’s a big deal. People from all over are trying out. Lots of young people, all wanting to be famous. It’s a tough world out there, I tell ya. But you gotta try, right? You gotta chase your dreams. Even if it’s scary, even if it’s hard.
They say you gotta apply on their website. Pledis Audition, I think it’s called. I’m not so good with these computer things. My granddaughter, she knows all about it. She filled out the forms and everything. She’s born after 2006. She’s good. Said it was easy. Just gotta put in your name and age and all that stuff. And then you gotta choose what you wanna try out for: vocal, rap, or dance.
How to apply? That’s what everyone’s asking. Seems like it’s confusing for some folks. But like I said, my granddaughter did it just fine. She said you just gotta follow the instructions. And if you don’t understand something, you can probably find the answer online. Lots of information out there, if you know where to look.
I remember when I was young, I wanted to be a singer, too. But we didn’t have these kinds of opportunities back then. We just sang in the fields while we worked. No fancy auditions or anything. It’s different now. The world’s changed a lot. It is good for young people. They have more chances.

This Pledis Entertainment, they’re a big company, I hear. They got lots of famous singers. My granddaughter, she knows all their names. She showed me pictures. They all look so pretty and handsome. And they can sing and dance so good. It’s amazing what young people can do these days.
It’s a long shot, I know. Lots of people are gonna try out. But my granddaughter, she’s got talent. And she’s got heart. And that’s what matters, right? You gotta have heart. You gotta believe in yourself. Even when things are tough. Even if this Pledis Entertainment Audition thing is hard to get.
I told her, “Don’t you worry about a thing. You just go out there and do your best. That’s all anyone can ask for. And if it doesn’t work out, that’s okay, too. There’s always next time. Or maybe something else. The important thing is to never give up on your dreams.”
