I really wanted to get some new football gear, specifically a jersey and shorts. I started looking around to see where I could find the best deals because I didn’t want to spend too much money.

Scouring the Internet for Deals
First, I checked out Fanatics Outlet. The website said it’s a “one-stop shop” for discount sports apparel, and they weren’t kidding. They had stuff from the NCAA, NFL, MLB, NBA, you name it. I was mainly interested in NFL gear, so I focused on that.
They had a bunch of discounted NFL jerseys, which was cool. I also saw that they claimed to be the “go-to destination” for discounts on all kinds of NFL merchandise, like apparel and shirts. Sounded pretty good to me.
DICK’s Sporting Goods – In-Store Pickup
Next, I looked at DICK’s Sporting Goods. They had a clearance section for NFL stuff, and I could order online and pick it up in-store. That seemed convenient, especially if I wanted to get the gear quickly to wear to a game or something.
- ’47 Men’s Kansas City Chiefs …$24.73
- Nike Men’s Kansas City Chiefs Red …$44.98
- ’47 Men’s Kansas City Chiefs …$24.73
- Nike Men’s Prime 2.0 White Club …$36.97
- Nike Men’s Prime 2.0 Black Club Fleece …$49.97
- ’47 Men’s New England Patriots …$34.48
- Nike Men’s Philadelphia …$22.48
They had some decent prices. I noticed some youth apparel for around $25 and some men’s stuff for between $22 and $50. It wasn’t a huge selection, but there were a few options.
Customization Options
I also found a place where I could get custom football jerseys with my name and number on them. These were pretty cheap, starting at $14.99. I thought about it for a minute, but I wasn’t sure if I wanted a custom one. It might be fun, but I also liked the idea of having a jersey of a player I really admire.

Thinking about the Environmental Impact
As I was browsing, I read something about how unsold sports gear, especially old models, often ends up in landfills. And football clubs change their kits and sponsors all the time, so there’s a lot of waste. I never really thought about that before. It’s kind of sad to think about all that stuff just getting thrown away. It made me wonder if there was a better way to get football gear without contributing to all that waste.
Kitbag
Kitbag is the Worldwide leader for officially licensed football kits and jerseys for your favorite clubs! I browsed their website, and they had a lot of nice-looking jerseys. Then, I was very excited to select the one I like, and successfully purchased it.
Final Thoughts
In the end, I decided to go with a regular jersey from Fanatics Outlet. I found one from my favorite team at a decent price, and I was happy with that. It wasn’t a custom jersey, but it was still a good deal. I’m excited to wear it to the next game I go to. This whole experience got me thinking more about where my clothes come from and the impact they have on the environment. Maybe next time I need some new gear, I’ll try to find a more sustainable option. But for now, I’m just happy to have my new football jersey and shorts!
