Okay, so, I finally got my hands on the Lifestyle 650 home entertainment system, and let me tell you, setting it up was quite the adventure.

First off, I unboxed everything. The main console, the speakers, the subwoofer – it all looked pretty slick. Then came the fun part: connecting it all up. I started by hooking the console up to my TV. Now, my TV has this HDMI (ARC) thing, so I made sure to use that port. It’s supposed to make the sound sync up better or something.
Next, I plugged everything into power. I mean, pretty straightforward, right? But then there was this whole setup process with some app called SoundTouch. I had to download it on my phone and follow a bunch of steps to get the system connected to my Wi-Fi. Honestly, it took a bit longer than I expected. I had to make the system connect to the internet.
Once that was all sorted, I started playing around with the sound settings. There are a few different options, and it seems like they’re supposed to make certain types of content sound better. I haven’t figured out all the differences yet, but it’s cool that they give you options.
Sound Setting
- I tried the “Movie” setting when I watched an action flick, and it did seem to make the explosions and stuff more impactful.
- There is also a “Music” setting. I guess it’s for playing music, and it does sound different.
I did learn that you can’t add more wireless speakers to this system if you want them to play the sound from your TV. Something about video playback. But, you can use this SoundTouch thing to play music on multiple SoundTouch speakers around the house, which is kind of neat. I haven’t tried it yet.
All in all, it was a bit of a process to get everything set up, but I think it’ll be worth it. The sound is definitely an upgrade from my old setup. I am just one person, so maybe I will find a day to try more features.

Hope this helps anyone out there thinking about getting one of these systems!
