So, I’ve been wanting to spice up my kid’s room for a while now. He’s crazy about basketball, like, eats, sleeps, and breathes the sport. I figured, why not bring some of that energy into his space? That’s when I had the idea to get some basketball wall stickers.

I hopped online and started browsing. There are tons of options out there, it’s actually a bit overwhelming! I found some with cool action shots, some with motivational quotes, and even ones you can personalize with your kid’s name. And the prices? Pretty reasonable, I saw some as low as $9.99.
After looking around for what felt like forever, I finally picked a set with a bunch of player silhouettes in different action poses. I thought these would be perfect for creating a dynamic look on the wall.
Once they arrived, I was eager to get them up. But I didn’t want to just slap them on haphazardly. I remembered seeing somewhere that you should use painter’s tape to plan out the layout first. So, I grabbed a roll and started experimenting.
I cut out each silhouette and used the tape to stick them to the wall, moving them around until I was happy with the arrangement. It took a bit of trial and error, but it was definitely worth it. Seeing the layout beforehand helped me visualize the final look and make sure everything was balanced.
- Step 1: Choose a wall and clean the surface.
- Step 2: Use painter’s tape to plan out your design.
- Step 3: Peel off the backing of the stickers.
- Step 4: Carefully stick them to the wall, smoothing out any air bubbles.
Once I was satisfied with the layout, it was time for the real deal. I peeled off the backing of each sticker and carefully applied them to the wall, following the tape outline. It was a pretty simple process, just had to make sure I smoothed out any air bubbles as I went along.

The whole thing took me maybe an hour or two, and let me tell you, the results are awesome! My kid’s room now looks like a mini basketball arena. He absolutely loves it, and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out myself. It’s amazing how a few simple stickers can totally transform a space.
So if you’re looking for an easy and affordable way to add some personality to your kid’s room, or any room for that matter, I definitely recommend giving wall stickers a try. Just make sure you take your time to plan it out, and you’ll be golden!
