Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with a bunch of football manager games lately, trying to figure out which one’s the best. It’s been a wild ride, let me tell you. I started with the newest one, you know, FM24. It’s got all these fancy updates, like the graphics are way better, and they added this thing called the Data Hub, where you can get lost in numbers and stats for days.

When I loaded it, I felt a bit lost. There are just so many things to do, so many menus, so many details. I mean it’s cool, but wow, it’s a lot to take in. It’s like they packed every single thing they could think of into this game. I spent hours just setting up my team, reading player stats, and figuring out training schedules.
- First thing I did was check out the tutorials.
- Then I dove into setting up my first team.
- After that, I started playing some matches.
But then, I got curious. Is this really the best one, or am I just caught up in the hype of the new release? So, I decided to go back in time a bit. I installed FM08, which a lot of people say is their favorite. And yeah, I can see why. It’s simpler, but it’s got this charm to it. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of FM24, but it’s still super fun.
I also tried FM13. I clicked around a lot and played a few seasons, just to see how it felt. It was cool, but it didn’t really grab me the same way FM08 did. It’s like everyone has their own favorite version of this game, depending on what they’re looking for and maybe what they played first.
Exploring Other Options
Then I thought, “Why just stick to Football Manager?” So, I started looking into online football manager games. I found this one called Mystify Soccer, it is pretty simple but fun. You can play with people from all over the world, and it doesn’t cost anything. You just take over a team and start playing. Super easy to get into. I joined a league and started managing my team, making trades, and competing in matches. It is fun to play!
I also found out that you can play FM24 offline, but you gotta connect online every now and then to stay logged in. Makes sense, I guess. I tried playing offline for a bit, and it worked fine. I guess it’s good for when you don’t have a good internet connection.

So, yeah, that’s been my journey through the world of football manager games. I started with the latest and greatest, went back to some classics, and even tried some free online options. Honestly, it’s tough to say which one is the “best.” They’re all fun in their own way, and it really comes down to what you’re looking for in a game. For me, I think I’ll keep playing FM24 for now, but I’ll definitely be keeping Mystify Soccer in my back pocket for when I want something a bit simpler and more social. And who knows, maybe I’ll even go back to FM08 again someday. It’s a whole world out there, and I’m just scratching the surface. What about you, which one do you like?
