Getting Started
First off, I needed a plan. Just winging it seemed like a recipe for disaster. I started by thinking about what kind of videos I enjoy. Stuff like funny skits, maybe some cool visual effects, that sort of thing. Then I grabbed my phone, since that’s what I use to watch most of my videos anyway, and started jotting down some ideas. Lots of random thoughts, but hey, that’s how you start, right? I figured the content can be simple and interesting, and make some combination of other videos, and mix them to see what’s the interesting outcome.
Filming
Once I had a few ideas down, it was time to start filming. I cleared out a space in my living room, made sure the lighting wasn’t terrible, and just hit record. It felt a little awkward at first, talking to my phone, but I got used to it. I did a few takes of each idea, trying different angles and stuff. Editing
Now came the part I was both excited and nervous about – editing. I downloaded a free video editing app on my phone, and wow, there were a lot of buttons. I spent a good chunk of time just messing around, figuring out how to trim clips, add transitions, and all that jazz. It was a bit of a learning curve, but I was determined to figure it out.
Combining
- Figuring Out the Clips: First, I had to decide which videos to mash together. I picked a couple that I thought might be funny or interesting when combined.
- Importing into the App: I opened up my video editing app and imported the clips I wanted to use.
- Trimming: Then, I trimmed each video down to the parts I wanted to use. This was a bit like cutting out the best bits of a magazine article.
- Arranging: Next, I arranged the clips on the timeline. This is where the magic happens, deciding which part comes after which.
- Adding Transitions: I played around with transitions between the clips, you know, those smooth or flashy effects that make it look less choppy.
- Adding Music: No video is complete without some tunes! I added some background music that I thought fit the vibe.
- Playing Around: Honestly, a lot of it was just playing around, moving clips, trying different effects, and seeing what worked.
Sharing
After hours of tweaking, I finally had something I was kinda proud of. I showed it to a couple of friends, and they actually laughed! That was a good sign. Then, I took a deep breath and shared it on my social media. It was a little nerve-wracking, putting myself out there like that, but the response was pretty cool. People seemed to enjoy it, which was awesome.
What I Learned
This whole video-making thing turned out to be way more fun than I expected. It’s a great way to be creative, and it’s really satisfying to see your ideas come to life.
