Okay, so, I’ve been meaning to get into basketball for a while now, and living in Delhi, I figured there must be some decent places to learn. I mean, it’s a big city, right? So, I started my quest to find a good basketball academy here.

First things first, I hit up the internet, naturally. I typed in “delhi basketball academy” and, well, a whole bunch of stuff popped up. It was kind of overwhelming, to be honest. There were so many options, each one claiming to be the “best” or “top-rated.” I spent a good hour just scrolling through the search results, trying to make sense of it all.
I started to filter them down. I wanted somewhere close to me, obviously, so I started looking at locations. Then I checked out their websites, if they had any. Some were pretty slick, with photos of kids playing and testimonials from happy parents. Others were, shall we say, a bit less polished.
I jotted down a few names that looked promising and decided to dig a little deeper. I looked for reviews online, checked out their social media pages—you know, the usual detective work. I wanted to see what kind of vibe they had, what their facilities looked like, and what their coaches were like.
- Checked Online Reviews: I looked for any mention of the academy on different platforms.
- Scanned Social Media: Facebook, Instagram, the works. I wanted to see real, unfiltered content.
- Compared Fees: Let’s be real, the cost is a factor. I needed to find something that was within my budget.
After a few days of this, I narrowed it down to three academies that seemed like good fits. I decided to give them a call and ask some questions. Things like class timings, batch sizes, coaching experience—all that jazz.
One of the places sounded a bit too crowded, with huge batches, and the guy on the phone sounded, well, a bit uninterested. Strike one.

Another place seemed okay, but when I asked about trial classes, they were a bit hesitant. That was a red flag for me. I mean, how can you commit without even trying it out, right?
Finally, I called the third place, and it was a whole different experience. The person on the phone was super friendly and helpful. They answered all my questions patiently and even invited me to come down for a trial session. They have specific programs for young athletes to improve the skills. They talked about how they focus not just on skills, but also on overall development. It sounded pretty legit.
So, I went for the trial class last week, and it was awesome! The court was great, the coach was really encouraging, and the other kids were friendly too. They walked me through some basic drills, and even though I was a total beginner, I didn’t feel out of place at all.
I ended up signing up for their beginner’s program, and I’ve been going for a few classes now. It’s been really fun, and I’m actually learning a lot. I’m still terrible, of course, but I can see myself getting better with each class. It’s hard work, but it’s worth it. I’m glad I took the time to find the right place. It just goes to show that a little research can go a long way!
